Colleen Labella is a Los Angeles based director. She directed the world premiere of Holiday Kinard's Lincoln 2020, which just finished its run at the Broadwater Theatre as part of the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Upcoming: Canyon for Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Recent directing credits include: a journey through minimalism at the Walt Disney Concert Hall featuring the LA Philharmonic, Toyer at the Hudson Theatre for the Polymath Theatre Company, MeetCute's Engineers Need Soap, and an LGBT retelling of Almost, Maine with her theatre company, Four Walls and a Stage (nominated for Best Play by BroadwayWorld LA). Associate/assistant director credits include Geffen Playhouse, IAMA Theatre Company and Connecticut Repertory Theatre. Colleen shadowed director Leslye Headland on the pilot of Almost Family for Fox, as well as on two episodes of Showtime's Black Monday. She holds her BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut and trained at Tisch's Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU, as well as Shakespeare's Globe in England. Colleen's short film, Boiling Point, will premiere at the Culver City Film Festival in December. Her short film, Hot Wings, recently premiered at the Portland Comedy Film Fest, and her first short film, searc(her) was an official selection at the Lovesick Film Fest, Cinema Diverse (the Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival), East Village Queer Film Festival in NYC and Queerbee LGBT Film Festival in London. Colleen's work on the webseries Detectin' earned her recognition for Best Direction at Revolution Me Film Festival. Colleen focuses her work on women, collaborative storytelling, ensemble-based projects and the LGBT experience.
